Healthy Breakfast

Don’t have time for breakfast? Not hungry in the morning? Trying to cut back on calories? It is understandable, we all have crazy busy lives and sometimes we skip a meal. Sometimes we think we are doing our body any good by not eating as much. However skipping breakfast does way more damage to your body than good.

When you skip meals your metabolism slows down and you are not burning as many calories as you should be. Your body then goes into starvation mode. You will then start to store fat preparing for the next time you skip a meal. If you do this often your body is constantly storing more fat than normal.

Eating breakfast not only boost metabolism but you will experience more energy all day and be in a better mood. Dartmouth College says breakfast reduces fatigue and promotes better concentration and performance. Calories are a measure of energy. The more calories you take in, the more energy your body is able to produce. When you skip breakfast, your body may not have enough energy to perform its daily functions. The body may start taking energy stored as glucose from your tissues, which can cause you to feel tired and lethargic. If you skip breakfast, you are more likely to experience a mid-morning slump that can leave your thinking cloudy. Eating breakfast provides the enzymes that burn more fat by kick-starting your metabolism early in the day. According to Colorado State University, breakfast eaters metabolize fat better and consume fewer calories throughout the rest of the day.

So... think again before you skip breakfast!!!
